Global star Hozier and Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan have teamed up to record a video for Hozier’s single Cherry Wine as part of a campaign to raise funds for domestic charities worldwide – including SAFE Ireland.
SAFE Ireland says thank you to Hozier and all involved in releasing Cherry Wine. We are honoured to be involved in this powerful and creative campaign.
Cherry Wine shines a light on the complexity of domestic violence and gives us insight into the justifications that can keep people trapped in soul-destroying abuse. Read more here »

In 2014, over 12,500 women and children received help from a domestic violence service in Ireland
(SAFE Ireland Annual Statistics, 2014).
WOMEN
Since 1996, 130 women have been killed in their own homes in Ireland – In resolved cases, 84 were murdered by a partner or ex-partner
(Women’s Aid, March 2015).
